Peter
Christian Petersen started
his match
stick
factory
in an
outhouse
at
his home
in Vestergade
629
, just outside the
city.
Although
Petersen
did not think that
it
would be
difficult to
restructurethe
production due to
the new
match
law, as
his
production
was manual
, he
chose
nevertheless
to stop
in 1874.
The last
year he
also had
a job as
policeman at night watch
and
was therefore
called
"
sulfur
stick
."
Later
he was promoted
to
sergeant
.
